SmartShot Coach
See beyond hit or miss. Keep learning long after the round.
SmartShot® Coach adds objective technique feedback on the field and turns recorded shots into a practice history you can replay, review, and bring into coaching.
Current scope: SmartShot Coach supports Trap Singles today. A result requires connectivity, sign-in, current Standard access, successful capture and trajectory analysis, and the feature enabled for the account.

Practice as usual A hit or miss tells you what happened. From hit or miss → To technique With SmartShot Coach SmartShot® Coach evaluates your technique—every shot.
Hit or miss shows only the result—not which part of your technique produced it or what to change before the next target.
You know the outcome. The cause is still a best guess.

The “why” can disappear before the next target.
Where the live view stops
- The result is visible.
- Hit or miss tells you what happened to the target.
- The cause can pass unseen.
- A small timing or movement detail can be too fast for one live view.
- The explanation fades.
- Feel, one viewpoint, and memory still have to supply the why.
See what your technique did. Know what to try next.
SmartShot reports the technique issue that matters most from the shot just taken. A new shot receives a new evaluation.
See what SmartShot adds
- Technique—not just outcome.
- Every shot receives an objective evaluation of how the shooter executed it, not only whether the target broke.
- Most important issue first.
- Detected issues are prioritized so one technique focus rises above competing signals. When nothing significant stands out, SmartShot can confirm solid technique instead of forcing a correction.
- Detail beyond one live view.
- Timing and movement can be too fast or subtle for even an experienced coach to catch consistently at full speed.
- A consistent reference.
- Shooter and coach receive the same objective signal instead of relying on two different impressions of the moment.
- Feedback while it is fresh.
- The result is ready to inform the next attempt before the memory of the shot begins to fade.
- Human judgment remains.
- The shooter or coach decides whether to act on the result, stay with the plan, or keep watching for more evidence.
SmartShot technique examples
See the issue. Understand the coaching focus.
These examples explain technique concepts rather than reconstructing a customer’s shot. SmartShot looks at one shot at a time; shooters and coaches decide whether a tendency is repeating.
Practice as usual A scorecard keeps the result. From a result → To a history With SmartShot Coach Recorded shots keep the moment—and build your history.
Relive a specific attempt, learn across practices, and bring real shots into coaching.
The score stays. The shot itself is gone.

What the scorecard cannot keep
- The score survives.
- The scorecard keeps the round result.
- The shot does not.
- The movement and context inside one attempt are difficult to reconstruct later.
- Coaching relies on recall.
- Shooter and coach have to rebuild the moment from notes, impressions, and memory.
Replay one shot. Learn across your history.
The gun got ahead too fast.
You are reacting too late to the appearance of the clay.
You moved before seeing the clay.
Each video is a real recorded shot. The result beneath it is the primary technique issue SmartShot Coach detected for that shot.
Return to the moment, revisit the feedback, and bring the same shot into coaching.
Use selected attempts to explore habits, add context, and sharpen the next practice.
Explore what the practice record unlocks
- Replay, learn, and coach.
- Relive available video, revisit the saved technique result, and review the same attempt together.
- Explore what may be repeating.
- Look across selected shots and practices for habits worth discussing—not an automatic pattern verdict.
- Plan with a longer view.
- Use real attempts and growing history to choose a sharper focus for the next practice.
Keep learning from practice long after the round ends.
One recorded shot helps you revisit the moment. Your growing history adds perspective over time.

Questions before an account
What SmartShot® Coach and ClayTracker Cloud do—and do not do.
What does SmartShot Coach add to traditional practice?
Practice as usual tells you the target result and depends on feel, one live viewpoint, and memory for the why. SmartShot adds objective technique feedback while the shot is fresh, then keeps captured shots available for later review and coaching.
Are the explainer animations showing the shooter’s actual telemetry?
No. The animations illustrate each technique-error concept. Their barrel and clay paths are conceptual; they are not the shooter’s recorded paths or a telemetry replay.
Does ClayTracker Cloud find patterns automatically?
No. SmartShot Coach looks at one shot at a time. You or your coach select shots from the available history, review their results and measurements, and decide whether a technique issue is repeating.
Which SmartShot Coach shots are supported today?
SmartShot Coach currently supports Trap Singles. A result requires connectivity, sign-in, current Standard access, successful capture and trajectory analysis, and the feature enabled for the account.
Does ClayTracker Cloud score my round?
No. Estimated break probability is ShotTracker's estimate, not an official hit-or-miss score or final judgment.
Who can see team athlete data?
Only authenticated users allowed by the current roster and shot-access rules can review available athlete sessions. Team coaching review requires an accepted, active roster relationship and current authorization; the athlete retains ownership of uploaded history.
